What Makes a Quality Toy
The use of toys in a child's development is vital as it enables the child to become more aware of their surroundings by "wakening" their sensory and motor skills. These toys don't have to be expensive and complex - a simple one is a metal pan and wooden spoon. This can provide the chance to make sound and use the motor skills involved in banging and stirring. A wide range of textures, shapes, colours and sizes is important. It is this variety that CTL hopes to provide.
Toys are the tools that children use to play and learn. They are part of play but not the whole experience. Sometimes a child may need a parent or carer to be involved by joining in the game at his level or providing ideas and materials to play with.
