Grants
As a registered charity, CTL relies on fundraising and grants to buy and maintain toys, store these and run toy library sessions.
Over the last 2 years CTL has been pleased to receive grants from the following organisations:
- December 2006 Crich Toy Library received £7,000.00 from Local Network Fund (Facilitated by Derbyshire Community Foundation) The grant funded:-
- Purchase of laptop computer to run toy library database
- Launch pilot project 'Stay & play' sessions on Wednesday afternoons.
- Carry out toy audit & produce new toy catalogues
- Develop systems for Outreach Scheme to supply local toddler, playgroups, out of school clubs and schools with toys & resources & market toy library to these users
- Plan satellite Toy Library to serve Ripley
- Host Family Fun days & Christmas Party for Members
- Produce Leaflets to promote Toy Library.
- December 2006 - Toy Library Volunteer ( Ex-Treasurer) Julie Gwyther was awarded £2,000.00 to enable Crich Toy Library to Register with National Association of Toy & Leisure Libraries to work towards Quality Play Matters Quality Assurance Scheme which we have 2 years in which to attain award once first section is submitted. The QPM scheme consists of the seven modules which cover everything from recruiting volunteers and child safety to planning the long-term financial progress of our projects.
- October 2006 Crich Toy Library received £500.00 from Rural Solutions Fund (Facilitated by Derbyshire Community Foundation) to upgrade Crich Toy Libraries Website by Digital Umbrella (High Peak CVS). Crich Toy Library had to match fund this with volunteer time and toy library funds and other grants.
- Gatsby Charitable Foundation (part of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts): funding for special toys and multicultural toys. - £2500
- Derbyshire County Council, Social Services Department (their awards for financial assistance): funding for special toys and multicultural toys. - £750
- Amber Valley Borough Council: funding towards running costs. - £50
- Awards for All (part of the Lottery Grants for Local Groups): funding for a new toy store, PC, web site, software and stationery.The purpose was in part to help us be more self-sufficient in promoting the toy library rather than using commercial printingcompanies. It also made our booking in/out system computerised. - £4070
- Community Care/Joint Financing Arrangements Fund from North and South Amber Valley PCG's (part of Southern Derbyshire Health Authority): funding for a selection of toys for a new project for CMTL to provide toys to the 2 doctor's surgeries in Crich. - £595
- Community Learning Development Fund (supported by the Active Community Unit of the Home Office):funding for training needs for both committee members and ordinary members. - £2400
